TAMBA’s Trail Showcase

By October 25, 2011No Comments

Perfect weather, great riding and some healthy trail work capped off TAMBA’s Trail Showcase on October 22 and 23rd.

On Saturday we went back out to Saxon Creek Trail (Mr Toads) for the second month in a row to make some much needed improvements on the newer section just after the main rocky waterfall.  There were 17 TAMBA volunteers and 4 Forest Service workers out there building berms, rock armoring steep sections, and formally opening the rock drop to slab cut off.  Lunch was donated by Yellow Sub. After working and riding down, Kent at Watta Bike threw us a BBQ and had some great raffle prizes for volunteers (shirts, jerseys, gloves, goggles).

On Sunday nearly 40 riders gathered for the Star Lake Group Ride.  The ride was about 20 miles long, mostly on sweet single track including a super fun decent on the brand new Star Lake Connector Trail built by the Forest Service this summer.   Beer and pizza at Blue Dog capped off the day.

Thanks to everyone that pitched in for trail work this year. We made some huge steps forward!  Stay tuned for our TAMBA trail work days next year.  If you have ideas or suggestions or just want to get involved drop an email to trails
