Angora Ridge Trail and 10th Anniversary of the Fire

June 21, 2017
Please join us on Saturday, June 24th to commemorate the 10 Year Anniversary of the devastating Angora Ridge wildfire that destroyed 242 residences. We will build a trail along Angora Ridge that will connect Tahoe Mountain communities with Angora Lakes (trail #2 in the map below). This trail will provide epic views of Fallen Leaf Lake and provide multi-user trail access to Angora Ridge. Then on Sunday, June 25th, Meyers will celebrate the resilience of its community with a party at Tahoe Paradise Park, 10 to 3, at 1011 San Bernardino Ave.

Trail Work Details:
Where: Angora Ridge Rd. We will work from the lookout tower down the ridge toward Tahoe Mountain Road. Look for the TAMBA tent on the left (east) side of the road approximately 1 mile up Angora Ridge Rd. Parking is very limited, but is available at several pullouts along the road up to the lookout. Please carpool or ride to the work site.
When: 9am to 3pm, 24 June
Conditions: The work location is mostly shaded, but it will be hot and mosquitoes will be an issue.
What to bring: Plenty of water, sunscreen, bug repellent, long sleeves, long pants, eye protection, gloves, helmet, and sturdy shoes. Bike helmets and bike shoes are acceptable.
What TAMBA will provide: Food…morning snacks, lunch, water, sports drinks, and beer (at the end of the day). We will provide tools.
Dogs?: Dogs are welcome, but we will be working near an active road and there is no water available.

Spring Party

May 7, 2017

Join us on Friday May 19th at 6pm at the Heavenly California Base Lodge to celebrate the upcoming Tahoe mountain biking season. As always our annual spring party is free to attend and is an all ages, family friendly event.

We’ll have info on upcoming projects, show a bike film, hold a raffle, membership drive, and Heavenly will be putting on a full spread pasta dinner.

We’re confident the weather will change and the snow will melt uncovering some well rested trails, so dust off your bikes and let’s get ready to ride and build some new trails.

Trail Build Days

May 21, 2014

Clear your calendar for June 14th Corral Party and volunteer trail building. We have a big day planned partnering with the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship again. They’ll be bringing the party trailer, beers, BBQ and tunes. We’ll also be joined by some fine folks over at BIKE magazine that will be in Tahoe working on a feature story for an upcoming issue. Free event, but please RSVP so we have an idea of how much food, drink and trail tools are needed.

For more info on how the project has been coming together check out this video put together by First Track Productions.

We will also be working on Corral Sunday June 8th, we could really use the help. Please show up at 9 a.m. to help buff out some of the new Corral features, please wear long pants and sleeves for the trail work. Then join us for some test riding and post work party!

May 30, June 8th and June 14th – Corral Trail, South Lake Tahoe – We need you help to keep building more features on Lower Corral. Come out to see what our trail crew has been build and get some tips and tricks for building better jumps.  Bring bikes for post work “test riding” – Meet at the dirt parking lot at 9am (bottom of Corral).  RSVP so we have a head count for food and tools. Free post work BBQ for all volunteers at the bottom and afterwards.

For more information about the Corral Enhancement Project visit our project page HERE.

Our June 14th date will be a BIG Party with the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship again along with a grand reopening.  DO NOT MISS THIS!
